Journey No 25 – 31st May to 3rd June 2013

This journey covered 4 days, 391 km/ 244 miles.

Our route was Carrick Castle to Clydebank, Glasgow, then Falkirk, Inverkeithing, North Queensferry, Dunfermline and back to Carrick Castle.

The purpose of the journey was to provide support for Liz who was kayaking for charity from Loch Goil, Argyll to Dalgety Bay, Fife for Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre, Lochgoilhead (www.outdooreducation.co.uk) to raise funds for the centre. Liz’s contribution was kayaking from Loch Goil to Bowling (the start of the Forth & Clyde Canal) with a stop over at Cove for the night of 30th May. Then to kayak from the exit of the canal near Falkirk on the River Carron to Dalgety Bay in Fife. Whilst others kayaked the canal Liz and Douglas finished painting their yacht Dream Weaver (www.yacht-dream-weaver.co.uk) in Rothesay Dock East, Clydebank and then met up again at the end of the canal.

Refuelled Braehead on 01/06/2013 with 19.34 l diesel = £26.48 at 124588 km and at Dumbarton on 03/06/2013 with 27.84 l diesel = £38.95 at 124806 km.
